On February 6th 2004 we lost our beloved Leda during a C-section for her first litter. Leda was the picture of health. She never had a sick day in her 3 short years. She had been under anesthesia for her ear cropping, her battery of health testing (OFA hips, elbows, patella's, heart, thyroid and cardiac) and never had any issues afterwards. She suffered a massive cardiac arrest and the Vets were never able to establish a cardiac rhythm after it. We lost 1 baby at the Vets and another at day 3. Leda and her children are buried here at RA-CA Ranch. We miss her terribly, she was the dog that thought she was a cat, always winding around your legs, loved to lick anyone, got along with everyone, goofy, always the "puppy". We are blessed with 3 boys, a harlequin, mantle and boston merle. It was a hard road and I want to thank the numerous people who helped me out with how to raise orphan pups. I also want to thank the people who sent kind words and wishes. Since this writing we have had other orphan litters. If anyone needs assistance or tips on how to raise a litter of orphan puppies, please do not hesitate to call or write!
