Alecia was born with neuroblastoma. By the time she was diagnosed she had progressed to stage 3 with mets. We were given a 40% chance of survival for her. After surgery to remove the tumor she enjoyed 13 years of remission. At age 15 she developed Hodgkins disease. After 1 year of chemotherapy she is now cancer free. Alecia wearing gag glasses, and receiving a kiss from Twister. January 2002. Alecia was so sick during her chemo, but through all the nausea and vomiting she still had the strength to be Captain of color guard in Jr ROTC. Alecia graduated in 2005 with high honors. She is now married to Charlie (who proudly serves in the Marines), lives in North Carolina and miracle of miracles is in remission, cancer free!
